Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ For Online Access To Our Quick Removal Software

I'm not in law enforcement. Can I sign up?
Yes, everyone deserves privacy. About half of our clients are not law enforcement. They are teachers, realtors, attorneys, influencers, and many others who just don’t want their personal information all over the internet. Sign up and take your privacy back.
After I sign up for access to the Quick Removal Software, what happens next?
1. You will be taken to a page to create an account. (You may add family members living with you at no charge.) This takes 1-2 minutes.

2. Select a data-broker site and follow our simple instructions to remove your information from that site. Each site takes 1-6 minutes, and our software includes a way to keep track of your progress. (No sticky notes or crazy spreadsheets necessary.)

3. Continue until your info has been removed from all of the sites. Take breaks when you want and return when you're ready.

4. Check back later and verify your info has been removed. Tip: Only check the sites you found were showing your info and didn't immediately remove it.

5. Set up a weekly or monthly schedule to check the sites again to see if your info has been re-listed. Remove your info from those sites.

Is my data safe with OfficerPrivacy.com?
Yes. Only active or former law-enforcement employees will see your information. Also, your data is compartmentalized from other employees within OfficerPrivacy.com. We take privacy seriously.

Second, we keep minimal data about you. The data we do store is encrypted with a very strong password and two-factor authentication is used on everything. Also, when your data is being transmitted, it is encrypted.

I will NEVER sell, rent, lease, whatever you call it, your information. Your information being your name, email, address, or anything you share with me. I take your privacy very seriously.
How long will this take?
Most clients using our software can complete the opt-outs in about an hour. You will want to follow up a few days later to verify they did remove your information.

Some people power through all the sites during one session.

Others prefer to do 20 minutes at a time and spread it out over several days. You will have 14 days of access for free.

The important thing is to get started. The sooner you start, the sooner you’ll be removed.
Why do I need this?
Right now there is a connection between your name and your address that can be found by anybody with access to the internet.

There are people and organizations that want to harm law enforcement officers and their families. It’s risky to expose your personal and private information to the world.

Our software helps you quickly submit opt-outs to the top people-search sites.

When you are deleted from these sites, this will break the connection between your name and your address so you can enjoy an extra layer of privacy.

That’s the goal.

Removing yourself from these sites may also reduce your chances of being a victim of identity theft as your full name, address, birthday, and email addresses are all exposed.
Will this hide me from the government?
No, this will not hide you from the government or put you in a secret witness program.

The government has databases I can’t remove you from. If you need to hide from the government, this service is not for you.
Can I remove my spouse/domestic partner/significant other who lives at the same address?
Yes. After you sign up for access to our Quick Removal Software you can easily add additional members of your household and remove them from these sites at no extra charge.
With so many sites, where should I start?
I provide the results of my research to help you get removed quickly.

First, I list out the top sites according to web traffic.

Second, I show you how to quickly find the sites that expose your street address with a simple Google search so you can focus on them.
Will I be listed on all of the sites?
We’ve found most clients are listed on between 15-25 sites.

As an additional feature of our Quick Removal Software, you will have access to a simple way of keeping track of which sites you are on and your progress in being removed.
If I use your service, will I be more difficult to find?
Yes, you will be more difficult to find which will be comforting. You will not be completely invisible but you will enjoy a layer of privacy you don’t have now.
I need help. Can you remove me from these sites?

3. Within 48 hours (very often with 12 hours) you receive your first Privacy Report that shows our progress in removing your info from the top 70+ people-search and data broker websites.

4. You relax knowing OfficerPrivacy.com is helping you and your family take your privacy back.
I have a business. Can you remove my personal information and leave my business info online?
Yes.

We remove your personal information from people-search sites only.

We don't touch sites where your business is listed or advertised on.
If you submit an opt-out for me, aren’t you confirming I’m an officer?
No. When we submit an opt-out for you we don’t identify you as an officer.

We do this for your safety and security. If you or a company identifies you as an officer to these sites during the process to remove your information, these sites can now create a separate list of all confirmed officers.

What are these sites doing with that information? Who are they selling that information to?

We don’t know, so when we contact these sites to delete your info, we don’t provide them with any more information than they already have.
How can I trust you?
I retired after 25 years with a large law enforcement agency in California and our team has helped thousands of officers in all 50 states take their privacy back.

I’ve authored an eBook, written several published articles, and been interviewed for many podcasts regarding online and digital privacy.  I explain why privacy is especially important for law enforcement officers to become more private.

All of the work we do is done by current or former US law enforcement officers.

We don’t outsource to foreign countries.

Can you explain what you do again?
Right now there is a connection between your name and your address that can be found by anybody with access to the internet.

We remove you from the top 70 people-search sites which will break the connection between your name and your address. That’s the goal.

OfficerPrivacy.com employees search the top 70-people search sites and identify your personal information. We submit the opt-outs on your behalf.

This manual process ensures we identify all the records associated with you. This manual search is more comprehensive than a strictly technical search as it includes variations of your name (Robert, Rob, Bob, Bobby, nicknames, and misspellings).

We do not identify you as being a law enforcement officer when we contact the website to remove your information. This is important. These sites are just large databases. If you are identified as an officer, whoever has access to that data (an employee, hacker, or purchaser of the data) can run a search and identify all of the LEOs.

That’s scary, and that’s why we don’t it.

Will my spouse's information be removed also?
Some of your spouse’s information will be removed when we remove information connected to you.

For example, some sites provide information based on street addresses and phone numbers.

If your spouse is associated with your street address of phone number, they will be removed when we remove you from those sites.

To specifically remove your spouse from all sites, a separate account needs to be created for them.

We offer a special deal for spouses of current Premium members. They only pay $99.95 for the initial account set-up and removal from the top 70 people-search sites. PLUS, their first five months of monitoring is FREE, a $99.95 value!

After you sign up you will be taken to a page where you have the option to add your spouse and take advantage of this special offer.
